Recently, I joined my wife in her school’s teambuilding outing, where we went to TM Resort in Tanjung Bungah. I have never heard of TM Resort before this, so, I was quite excited to find out. It is a small resort located near the Flamingo Hotel in Tanjung Bungah. Thinking of it, there are probably many more small resorts in the Tanjung Bungah and Batu Ferringhi areas that I am not aware of. I probably need to be more adventurous in exploring the smaller roads.
The TM Resort is quite old, and parking spaces are limited. It has a small lobby, and a swimming pool. It is basically a simple resort, but is probably good enough as a venue for a teambuilding type of get-together, especially if you are looking for a low cost location. Of course, you cannot compare the facilities here to places like the Golden Sands Resort or Rasa Sayang Resort. Staff of Telekom Malaysia are entitled to a big discount at TM Resort, since the resort is owned by the company.
Walking to the back of the resort, there is a beach, which is quite nice, and is not crowded. There is also a shaded area (with trees) on the beach that is suitable for teambuilding activities.
All in all, I think TM Resort is a decent venue for a cost-effective teambuilding or staff get-together. It may also work as a place for a weekend family get-away, since there is a swimming pool and a beach area. But, you should probably lower your expectation in terms of the facilities and services provided here.
