New World Park (known to locals as “Sin Sei Kai”) is mainly a F&B centre in Georgetown, Penang. It is named after the “Sin Sei Kai” entertainment centre that was located there in the 1930s. Although there are restaurants, coffee shops, and other stores; New World Park is most well known for its food court.
The New World Park food court has a wide range of Penang hawker food. Most of the stalls originated from Swatow Lane, and moved here when the food court opened in 2008. The Penang street food available here include char koay teow, curry mee, hokkien mee, wan thun mee, chee cheong fun, Penang laksa, mee rebus, pasembur, popiah, bakchang, ice kacang, chendol, and others.
Personally, I would say the food at the New World Park food court are mostly good. You get to enjoy many types of Penang hawker food here, in a clean and orderly environment. If you are there with children, you may also want to check out the Candyland store, which sells many types of nicely-packaged candies.
