I recently went down to Georgetown with my family to have the Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul. It was on the first day of Hari Raya Puasa (5 June 2019). I had not had the chendul here at the Lebuh Keng Kwee main branch for quite some time, although I did enjoy their chendol at various branches around Penang. There was a really long queue, people lining up from the stall right up to Jalan Penang. With so many people, the other chendul stall across the street was also having good business.
We went straight to the shops further down Lebuh Keng Kwee to find a table. The shops are owned by Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul. Here, we were able to order the chendul from the waitress, instead of lining up under the sun. We still need to wait though. Apart from the chendul, we also ordered rojak, laksa, char koay teow, fried oyster, and loh bak. The chendul was nice, and it was enjoyable having it there, although there were so many people. It doesn’t feel the same having the chendol at the other branches in shopping malls.
Apart from the main branch at Lebuh Keng Kwee, the Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul can also be enjoyed at various branches across Penang. Here is the list of branches in Penang:
