The Penang Children’s Library (Perpustakaan Cawangan Kanak-kanak) is located along Scotland Road (Jalan Scotland). The building is right beside the Penang Public Library Georgetown Branch (Perpustakaan Cawangan George Town).
It has a lot of children’s book, ranging from books for toddlers, pre-school kids, and primary school children from age 7-12. Each children is allowed to borrow 5 books at a time. Parents can really save money by borrowing books from the Penang Children’s Library. I know I did.
There is also an iPlay Toy Library (Perpustakaan Permainan) located within the Penang Children’s Library. Children must be 8 years old or younger to enter the iPlay Toy Library. Here, the children can “learn through play”. Note that you will have to bring along your children’s MyKid in order to register and enter the iPlay Toy Library. The librarian is pretty strict about this.
The address of the Penang Children’s Library is No. 11, Jalan Scotland, 10450 Pulau Pinang. The opening hours are 9.45 AM to 6 PM, Wednesday to Sunday. The library is closed on Monday, Tuesday, and public holidays.
Refer to the map below for the exact location of the Penang Children’s Library.

[Update – 2 May 2020]
It has been quite some time since the Penang Children’s Library (Perpustakaan Kanak-kanak) moved into the main library building (Perpustakaan Cawangan Georgetown). The children’s section is more organized now. There is a place for children to watch television, a nice play room and the tables/chairs have more space between them. There is also a lazy couch with lots of fluffy dolls. Here are some pictures taken recently:
