The food court / Medan Selera at Tesco Penang (or Tesco Jelutong) has recently been renovated, giving it a refreshing modern look. The new renovation has a brownish colour theme. Having dined here regularly, I would say that the new design definitely makes the place more interesting.
There are many food stalls at the Tesco Penang food court, with a variety of Malaysian favourites, including Thai food (Little Siam), Hainan chicken rice, nasi campur (Malay-styled mixed rice), mee goreng mamak, pasembur, yong tau fu, sar hor fun, fried bihun, and Western food, just to name a few. There are also a couple of stalls selling drinks, and shaved-ice desserts. It is also worth noting that Little Siam serves authentic Thai food at a reasonable price.
There are also a couple of rides for children at the Tesco Penang food court (near the entranceĀ of the overhead footbridge connecting Tesco and Udini Square).
Overall, the food court at Tesco Penang is a good place to have a meal. If you are shopping at Tesco, HomePro or Udini Square, I would recommend stopping by the food court for a meal or light refreshment.
