Medical Check-up At Lam Wah Ee Hospital, Penang

Lam Wah Ee Hospital is a not-for-profit hospital in Penang. Medical charges at Lam Wah Ee Hospital are relatively lower, compared to other private hospitals in Penang.The hospital has specialists in all the major medical fields, and many of the doctors are well known practitioners in Penang.

I recently did my medical check-up at the Health Screening Centre of Lam Wah Ee Hospital (Tel: 04-6528680/04-6528682). The centre is located on the 7th floor of the hospital.

There were 3 health screening packages to choose from:

1) DASAR Package – RM225.00

2) ESSENTIAL Package – RM438.00

3) ENHANCED Package – RM620.00

I took the ENHANCED package, which include the regular blood tests, ultrasound of the abdomen area, chest X-Ray, electrocardiogram (ECG), consultation with a dietitian, and heart “stress test”. The “stress test” is performed by taking ECG readings while the person is running on a treadmill.

I made an appointment, and arrived at 7.30AM on the actual day. There are many people on the day, with a sizable number of Indonesians. The registration process was fast though, and I was going through the steps pretty smoothly. A simple breakfast was provided, which I got to consume between the different screening phases. It took me about 2 hours to go through the health screening. I was then given an appointment to get the results at 3PM on the same day. A doctor walked me through the health screening results, and provided some advice based on the results.
