London Duck is a Chinese restaurant located on the third floor of Gurney Plaza (Address: 170-03-86, Gurney Plaza, Persiaran Gurney, 10250 Georgetown, Penang. Tel: 04-2170990). The name of the restaurant seems to hint that its specialty is duck dishes. However, the restaurant actually serves a good variety of non-duck dishes, mostly Cantonese-styled.
The food at London Duck restaurant is quite nice. I especially like the Peking Duck dish, which I think is very much a Malaysian-ized version. It has a lot more duck meat than the Peking Duck found in China. I have also tried other dishes like stir fry fish and mixed vegetables – which are quite good. There are many more dishes available at London Duck, so it is a good place for a family meal.
The dining area is quite comfortable, but it feels a little packed when there are many customers. It would have been better if the tables can be put further from each other. But, that is probably a small matter. Overall, I think London Duck is a pretty nice place to dine in when you are shopping at Gurney Plaza.
