I recently tried the King Prawn Char Koay Teow at Khoon Hiang Cafe (on 26 January 2018). I saw the colourful King Prawn Char Koay Teow sign a few times previously when driving down Jalan Dato Keramat, which prompted me to go down there to try it. Khoon Hiang Cafe is located at the intersection of Jalan Dunlop and Jalan Dato Keramat (Address: 358, Jalan Dato Keramat, 10150 Georgetown, Penang.).
I reached Khoon Hiang Cafe around 12PM, and ordered a plate of King Prawn char koay teow. The char koay teow comes with 2 big prawns, cockles, Chinese sausage, and egg. The char koay teow turned out to be pretty good, definitely up to standard. I especially like the prawns, which were fresh and tasty.
There are also other stalls operating in Khoon Hiang Cafe, selling economy rice, chicken rice, hokkien mee, hakka mee, koay teow th’ng, and others. It is quite a busy place during lunch time.
