Kindermusik is a music and movement programme for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and young children. It uses music, games, and activities to stimulate a children’s mind, body, and sense of play. Kindermusik originated from a programme developed by a group of teachers in West Germany in the 1960s, to teach children about music before they are old enough to begin formal music lessons. It was later adapted for use in the United States, and renamed to Kindermusik.
When my daughter was younger, she joined the Kindermusik programme at The Whyte House Headquarters & Music School in Sungai Ara, Penang. She enjoyed the classes very much. It provided her with an environment where she can interact with other children around her age. The Kindermusik class at The Whyte House Sungai Ara is conducted by Ms. Tan (co-owner and teacher). She is very good at implementing the activities in the Kindermusik programme, and getting children to participate. Since The Whyte House is also a kindergarten, Ms. Tan is very experienced in dealing with children.
The Whyte House Sungai Ara’s address is: 4K-2, Tingkat Kenari, Desaria, Sungai Ara, 11900 Bayan Lepas, Penang. The Kindermusik programme is conducted on the 3rd floor of the unit.
