JJ Garden is a newly opened food court in Tanjung Bungah, Penang. Officially opened on 20 October 2021, JJ Garden is located roughly behind the Tanjung Bungah Market (Address: Jalan Sungai Kelian, 11200 Tanjung Bungah, Penang. Tel: 012-4823909). It is slightly off the main road, but is pretty easy to find. There are also ample car park spaces available for customers. With Sure Win Cafe recently closed down, JJ Garden is now the new biggest food court in Tanjung Bungah. A number of hawkers here were actually operating in SureWin Cafe previously.
There are around 20 hawker stalls at JJ Garden, so customers here have lots of choices. Most of Penang’s hawker food are represented, including wan tan mee, char koay teow, hokkien mee, curry mee, laksa, fish head bee hoon, black vinegar pork trotter, bak kut teh, western food, tomyam noodles, curry fish head, roasted duck rice, and more. On my first visit to JJ Garden, I had the wan tan mee, which was one of my favourite back when they were at SureWin Cafe. It tasted as good here.
The dining area at JJ Garden is huge. Tables are spaced out nicely in rows, in accordance with the new normal with COVID-19 still in our midst. The place is airy, so dining here is very comfortable. There is a garden at the back of the food court, where customers can have a stroll and enjoy the greeneries. There are also some tables available in the garden, for those who want to enjoy their food in a more natural surrounding. I will give it a try sometime 🙂
Overall, JJ Garden is a nice food court in the Tanjung Bungah area. The variety of Penang hawker food served here makes it a wonderful place to enjoy a scrumptuous, affordable meal.
