Hari Raya Puasa (Eid al-Fitr) this year was celebrated on 13-14 May 2021, but due to the COVID-19 situation, the Hari Raya Puasa decorations at Gurney Plaza is still intact. I was at Gurney Plaza recently, and managed to take some pictures of the decorations.
This year’s Gurney Plaza Hari Raya Puasa decorations are inspired by the Moroccan Summer Palace. Gurney Plaza’s interpretation of the Moroccan Summer Place has walls filled with intricate design, a fountain, arches and palm trees. The Islamic-inspired design portrays a beautiful and calm surrounding. The only thing missing when I took the pictures were the shopping mall crowds, as most shops are closed. Let’s hope that things will turn for the better soon.
