The Ship is a well known restaurant in Malaysia, serving “The Best Steak In Town”. The restaurant was established in the late 1970s, with its first outlet in Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. Today, The Ship has 2 locations in Penang – one in Batu Ferringhi, and the other one in Jalan Sri Bahari, Georgetown. I recently visited The Ship Sri Bahari on September 18th, 2017 with my family (Address: 42-46, Jalan Sri Bahari, 10050 Georgetown, Penang).
We reached The Ship Sri Bahari at around 7.30PM. The decoration and layout of the restaurant’s interior is interesting.
The waiter recommended the live lobster, imported from the USA. Although it is quite pricey, we ordered it anyway, as it has been awhile since we had lobster. We opted for the grilled lobster, as opposed to the recommended lobster thermidor. The grilled lobster turned out to be really excellent – juicy and delicious. It was grilled to perfection, so to speak. We enjoyed it very much. The lobster was served with grilled potato, corn and some salad.
During the visit, we also ordered the lamb dish, which is quite decent as well. The lamb is served with steamed vegetables, corn and french fries.
After so long, the recent visit to The Ship Restaurant was really satisfying. It is definitely one of the best restaurants for western food in Penang. I mostly likely will be going back there soon, for “The Best Steak In Town”.
