China House is a cafe, restaurant, bakery, wine bar, pub with live music, and library – all rolled into one. It is in a compound of 3 heritage buildings, linked by an open air courtyard (Addresses: 153 & 155, Beach Street / 183B, Victoria Street, 10300 Georgetown, Penang. Tel: 04-2637299). Spanning from Beach Street to Victoria Street, China House is probably the longest cafe/restaurant in Penang.
There are many varieties of cakes served at China House. Many of the cakes are served in big slices, perfect for sharing.
The food at China House are pretty good, from the ordinary burger to the many innovative fusion dishes.
Apart from the food and drinks, the environment at China House is probably the main attraction that pulls in the crowds. The art decors and the heritage building architecture give the place a unique feel. Personally, I feel that it is best to go on weekdays when it is not too crowded.
