Chin Bee Tea & Restaurant is a hidden gem of a restaurant, located in the heart of Georgetown, Penang. The small restaurant/tea house is located along Lebuh Noordin, or commonly known as “Ji Tiau Lor” (2nd Street) to the local Hokkien-speaking community (Address: 124, Lebuh Noordin, 10300 Georgetown, Penang. Tel: 04-2611761).
What makes this place special is that customers not only get to enjoy a nice Chinese cuisine, but also savour a variety of good Chinese tea. The food served at the restaurant are typical Chinese “chi char” dishes, and most of them taste good.
There is quite a good selection of Chinese tea available for customers. The normal tea costs RM 2/person while the better ones (Puer, Ti Kuan Yin, aged Liu Bao, etc.) are from RM 4-7/person. There are some limited non-tea beverages available too.
Overall, Chin Bee Tea & Restaurant is a cosy place to have a casual meal, with Chinese tea. It does have limited tables, so it may be a good idea to call in advance for reservation.
