Chinese New Year is a major celebration in Malaysia. The festival is enjoyed not just by the Malaysian Chinese, but also other Malaysians, with the holidays and also it being a good time to visit their Chinese friends. This year, 2020, is the Year of the Metal Rat. Straits Quay, a lifestyle mall in Seri Tanjung Pinang (Tanjung Tokong) put up some nice Chinese New Year decorations this year. The decorations depict a traditional Chinese / Oriental setting – including a pavilion, wooden walkway, lanterns, cherry blossom, bamboo and a bridge over water. It is perfect for visitors to walk around and take pictures in the evening.
Inside the mall, there are stalls selling Chinese New Year items and food. The decorations inside the mall was nice too.
Happy Chinese New Year!
