I got to know from a friend that there is a popular nasi campur stall (Malay-styled rice with mixed dishes) called Nasi Melayu Lidiana at Medan Selera Tanjung Bunga. Medan Selera Tanjung Bunga is located right opposite Masjid Terapung Tanjung Bungah (Tanjung Bungah Floating Mosque).
My wife and I went over there on a Sunday afternoon to try out the nasi campur. Unfortunately, we found that the Nasi Melayu Lidiana stall was not opened on a Sunday. Instead, we got our lunch from the Atika Nasi Campur stall, which is located right beside it.
There were quite a lot of Malay dishes to choose from at the Atika Nasi Campur stall (many types of chicken, fish, tofu, and vegetables dishes). The white rice goes very well with the hot, spicy dishes. We enjoyed our lunch very much. And, the price was reasonable. A plate of rice and dishes typically costs about RM5-7, depending on the dishes selected.
Although the more popular Nasi Melayu Lidiana was not opened, there were many customers having lunch at Atika Nasi Campur. The place was almost full. One thing I don’t like about Medan Selera Tanjung Bunga is that it gets pretty hot at noon. So, we finished our lunch quickly, as it was too hot to sit around for too long. I will definitely go back next time, hopefully to try out the Nasi Melayu Lidiana stall.
