Grand Orient Hotel is a relatively small hotel in Perai (Address: No. 3079, Jalan Laguna 1, 13700 Perai, Penang. Tel: 04-3830099). Something special about this hotel is that it has a water park within it, called Laguna Water Park. Laguna Water Park is a water park with an Amazon forest theme. At the time of writing, it is the only water theme park in Mainland Penang.
Laguna Water Park consists of a number of sections, namely the Aqua Kid Zone, Outdoor Jacuzzi, Wading Pool, Pool Volley Ball, Laguna Island, Active River and Lap Pool. Although it is a small theme park (cannot compare with Lost World Of Tambun Theme Park in Ipoh), it is a reasonable place for children to have a couple of hours of splashing fun. One thing to note is that the theme park is a little dated though.
Laguna Water Park is open daily, 10AM-2PM (morning session), 3PM-7PM (afternoon session). Entrance fee is RM25/person (Monday to Thursday), RM28/person (Friday to Sunday, eve of public holidays, public holidays and school holidays). Hotel guests get unlimited access to the water park. Proper swimwear is required to enter the water park.
